SAMBA, MARCH 09: As a part of Pan India Program on legal awareness launched by National Commission for Women (NCW) in collaboration with NALSA, District Legal Services Authority Samba observed “International Women’s Day” yesterday. The event was organised under the directions of Incharge Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Samba, Adnan Sayeed who is also Principal District & Sessions Judge, Samba.
The event was held in Gurha village of tehsil Vijaypur, and the theme of the day was “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology For Gender Equality.” The program included legal awareness sessions on “Constitutional and Legal Safeguards for Women” and “The Role of District Legal Services Authority in Addressing Women’s Grievances.”
Panel Advocates Sandeepa Sambyal and Jagpreet Kour served as resource persons for the program. Sandeepa Sambyal spoke about the District Legal Services Authority’s role and functions, while Jagpreet Kour discussed the constitutional and legal safeguards available to women under various legislations.
The program was attended by Ankita Sharma, Case Worker, One Stop Centre Samba, Jyoti Devi, Aanganwadi workers, Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Samba and around 70 women of village Gurha of tehsil Vijaypur.
District Legal Services Authority Samba also organised a legal awareness program in Bari Khad village, focusing on raising awareness about the challenges faced by women and how to address them.
