Mamata Banerjee govt’s Budget this time may introduce certain measures to support new businesses and the manufacturing industry, reports say.
Kolkata/New Delhi: The West Bengal state budget for the fiscal year 2023–24 was presented in the State assembly by Chandrima Bhattacharya, the state minister of finance (independent charge) for West Bengal.
The CM Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government presented a Rs 3.39-lakh crore Bengal budget for 2023-24. Among the several big ticket announcements, the budget speech this time suggested measures to support start-ups, manufacturing industry and rural connectivity.
The Biggest takeaway of the West Bengal Budget however was announcement of hike in DA to 3 percent and West Bengal government’s extension of stamp duty rebate till 30 September 2023.
Bengal FM Chandrima Bhattacharya announced Rs 350-cr startup fund to extend up to Rs 5 lakh each to young entrepreneurs. She added that Bengal’s SGDP is projected to grow at 8.4 percent, industry at 7.8 per cent in 2022-23 fiscal.
