INTENATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
The International Women’s day which is celebrated on 8th of March every year, Mirchi 98.3 in collaboration with Directorate of Mission for Protection and Empowerment of Women social welfare department joined hands in celebrating the women achievers and go-getters of the city who have been making efforts day in and out to bring about change and fulfil their dreams. The message of the event was to #‘breakthebias’ and twenty two women achievers were felicitated on the occasion who came from different fields like administration, sports, social reform, art and culture, defence forces, fashion and education. All these achievers were very happy to be a part of this event. The Chief guest of the event Ms. Sheetal Nanda(IAS) Commissioner/Secretary, social welfare JAMMU AND KASHMIR along with the guest of honour Ms. Vivek Sharma JKAS, director Social Welfare Jammu started the event by lightening of the lamp. An electrifying performance was given by Shumalini Goswami and her band which surely made the crowd thumping and clapping to her songs and her rock version of dogri music. Along with the musical performance, a dogri skit on women empowerment was also presented for the guests.
The felicitation of the women achievers started with Ms. Sushma Chaudhary (IAS), the first female DC of erstwhile J&K, followed by Ms. Sushma Chauhan (IAS), Ms. Avny Lavasa (IAS), Kuwarani Ritu Singh, Dr. Sanjogita Soodan,Dr. Sarika Manhas, Ms. Madhvi Sharma, Ms. Ridhima Arora , Ms. Priya Rajput, Ms. Balbir Kaur, Dr. Surbhi Kudyar, Dr. Priya Dutta, Ms. Sanchaita Pradhan, Ms. Arushi Kotwal, Maj. Arpita Dwivedi, Smt. Kaml Sisodiya, Ms. Asha Kesar, Ms. Ifra Kak, Ms. Sunita Pandit, Ms. Anissa Nabi, Ms. Sana Dua and Ms Vijaya Thakur. All the ladies were part of the event and were celebrated for their achievements in their respective fields.Mirchi Shwetima along with Mirchi Simran hosted the event and made sure the guests were fully entertained. Mirchi Simran is the evening jock having her show Monday to Friday 5PM to 9PM at Mirchi 98.3 Jammu.
All the awardees expressed their views on the current scenario of women in the society and were very happy to be a part of the event. The chief guest of the event Ms. Sheetal Nanda was too delighted to be a part of the same and also congratulated the women who were felicitated. She too believed in the power of women and surely agrees to breaking the bias.
Sumit Kakkar, Cluster Head Mirchi 98.3 was extremely happy and proud to be a part of an event where such powerful and inspirational women were present and felicitated. He believes that nothing around us would have been what it is today if it wasn’t for all the women around us.
Shwetima Jamwal, content leader Mirchi 98.3 Jammu was too overwhelmed to be apart of the event. She is a firm believer of the fact that the Women is power and where ever she goes she will always succeed and bring happiness and love to the people around.
