Today, an anti-encroachment drive was conducted by the Enforcement team of Jammu Municipal Corporation on the instructions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Commissioner, Avny Lavasa, and under the close supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Sudhir Bali. The anti-encroachment drive was conducted in Rehari and Sarwal of Jammu City.
The drive received several complaints from the residents of the twin localities about the encroachment of the roads and lanes by the shopkeepers and residents, causing hurdles in a smooth flow of traffic and pedestrians. The team removed encroachments from the roadside and lanes, including illegal ramps, railings etc. Several by-lanes were also freed from encroachments and opened for the general public.
Meanwhile, Jammu Municipal Corporation has appealed to all citizens to encroach on main roads, footpaths, and pavements. This is because it causes inconvenience to the general public and pedestrians and creates obstructions in the free movement of vehicular traffic.
