The Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board will build flats for the poor in Bhalwal, the city’s outskirts. These flats constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban will be given to the poor at low prices. For this, the Housing Board has started taking applications.
This colony is being built about 18 km from Jammu city. Each flat will have a bedroom, a hall and a kitchen. Only those people will take this flat whose annual income is less than three lakh rupees. This colony is being built on the side of Ring Road. There will be roads around all the blocks. Not only this, shopping centres, health centres, parks will also be built here. Apart from parking, there will also be an electric sub-division. There will also be a facility to park a separate vehicle for each.
Facilities will also be available in the colony being built in Bhalwal. This colony will be prepared for seven hundred sixty units under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban. Therefore, apart from Jammu Municipal Corporation subordinate areas, poor people living in RSpura, Bishnah, Arnia, Ghou Manhasa, Akhnoor, Khor, and Jodian can buy this flat. Apart from this, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, families will also get a subsidy of Rs 1.66 lakh, and they will have to pay Rs 7.59 lakh.
Not only this, applicants will pay this amount in seven instalments. For the first time, they will have to spend Rs 59 thousand. Poor people will get loans under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which can be repaid in instalments. This is the first colony built by the Housing Board for the poor near Jammu city. Earlier, Gandhinagar and Chhani Himmat Colony were given by the Housing Board.
Housing Board Managing Director Mohammad Shahid Salim Dar says that this colony is being constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. People can apply for this till February 28. Later the flats will be given to the applicants through lottery. All facilities will be available here. The people living here will not be allowed to face any trouble.
