Under suspicious circumstances, a dead body of army personnel posted in the Military Cantonment, Nagrota, was found hanging in the generator shed with the hook of the fan. Nagrota Police, taking action in the matter, got the body kept in GMC Hospital for post-mortem. Forensic Science Laboratory officials were called to collect evidence from the crime scene. A case was registered at Nagrota police station, and an investigation was started into the cause of death.
On Sunday evening, at 05:30, Havildar Gurdev Singh posted in the 72 Engineering Unit of the Army, resident of Post Office Sabra, resident of Tehsil Patti, District Tarn Taran, Punjab was found hanging by his associates. Senior officials were informed about the accident.
Senior officers of the unit reached the spot and informed the Nagrota police. According to the police, Gurdev used to work as an electrician. He was in the army for the last 12 years.
