The doors of the old cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi will be opened on Makar Sankranti, i.e. on January 14. The cave will be opened for the devotees by the Chief Priest of the Shrine Board and other pandits duly offering prayers. Preparations are being made for this. This tradition is performed every year. But because of the condition of corona infection, it is difficult to say whether the devotees will be allowed to visit Vaishno Mata from this cave or not.

The ancient cave of Maa Vaishno Devi is worshipped daily by the priests at the time of divine aarti in the morning and evening. But special worship of the ancient cave is done on the day of Makar Sankranti. So the doors of this holy cave have been opened for the devotees on this day. Usually, the number of devotees who visit at this time remains around 10 thousand. But this time, corona cases are increasing continuously, and on the other hand, the number of devotees is also very good.

After the formation of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in the year 1986, the pilgrimage of Maa Vaishno Devi started increasing day by day, due to which artificial caves were created and at present, most of the time throughout the year, devotees have continuous supernatural darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi from artificial caves.

Only about five thousand devotees can visit the ancient cave every day. So when the daily travel figure is below ten thousand, the doors of this ancient cave now allow the shrine board to be opened for the devotees. Devotees pass through this ancient and holy cave to have a supernatural darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi.
