District police Samba under the direction and supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, arrested three drug peddlers in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur and recovered about 19 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance from their possession.
In first instance, a police party of PS Vijaypur, while performing vehicle checking duty at naka NHW AIIMS, Vijaypur, signalled a car bearing Registration Number, JK21F-5106 to stop which was coming from AIIMS construction site, Rakh Barotian and was moving towards Vijaypur town.
On seeing the police party, the driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle and tried to flee away but was successfully intercepted on the spot by the Naka party. During frisking of the driver and his associate sitting in the car, approximately 13 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance was recovered from their possession which was wrapped in Polythene bags.
The accused persons have been identified as: Yogeswer Singh alias Jaibu son of Yashpaul Singh of Mandi Garh, Gurha Slathian and Shivraj Singh alias Raju Militant son of Ashar Singh of Mandi Andhrar, Gurha Slathian.
Both the accused have been arrested on the spot and contraband item as well as the vehicle was also seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 203/2021 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
Both accused persons are history sheeters and the accused namely Yogeshwer Singh alias Jaibu is involved in four criminal cases including two cases of NDPS Act registered at PS Vijaypur and was also detained earlier under Section 3 of the Prevention of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act in the year 2020 whereas the second accused namely Shivraj Singh alias Raju Militant is involved in seven criminal cases including four cases under NDPS Acts registered at PS Vijaypur.
In another incident, a police party of PS Vijaypur while performing vehicle checking duty during random check point near Little Angel School, NHW Vijaypur, intercepted one person who was moving under suspicious circumstances and didn’t reveal his identity and gave un-satisfactory answers upon questioning by the police party.
During his frisking, six grams of heroin (Chitta) like substance was recovered from his possession. The accused was identified as Mohd Younis, son of Noor Alam of Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur and was arrested on the spot. The contraband item was seized and a case FIR No 204/2021 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
