96 Covid Nurses to be Appointed, Priority to be given in permanent appointments

The Department of Health and Medical Education has decided to recruit 96 posts of Kovid Nurse on contract under the National Health Mission in various hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir. Of these, 36 posts are in Government Medical College Jammu, 18 in Directorate of Health, Kashmir. Apart from this, posts are also selected in Doda, Baramulla, Rajouri, Anantnag.

It was also stated that these posts would be notified soon. These candidates will be given priority in subsequent appointments. The Lt Governor has assured the nursing and paramedical staff that their contract will be extended for another three months. He also assured that all these would be given priority even in permanent appointments.

The government has constituted a committee for selection to director in Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences. Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta will be the chairman of the committee while Dr Randeep Guleria, Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Dr Surjit Singh, Director, PGI Chandigarh, Prof. Former Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. MC Mishra will be a member. On the other hand, the Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, Vivek Bhardwaj, will be the member secretary. The committee has to prepare a panel of three doctors. Right now, the names of 15 doctors are being discussed.
