A unique case has come to the fore in Kashmir. After his father’s death, a son made his wife a mother and grabbed his father’s pension. When the Crime Branch investigated the matter, the whole truth came to the fore on receiving the complaint. As a result, the Crime Branch has filed a charge sheet against five people, including Xen of R&B. All of them have cheated the exchequer to the tune of 9.70 lakhs by fraud.
This case is of Pulwama. Crime Branch Kashmir received a complaint that after his father’s death, Abdul Rashid Laway, an employee of R&B Pulwama, prepared fake pension papers by pretending his wife to be a mother in forms and started usurping the father’s pension. Abdul Rashid’s father, Abdul Rahim Laway, worked in R&B Division Pulwama. After his father’s death, his son Rashid planned to grab his pension.
On checking the pension papers, the crime branch learned that an R&B officer was also involved in this fraud. Rashid got his wife Fuzzy Begum transferred as his mother on documents and his father’s pension in her name. This process has been going on for a long time, and till now, the accused has defrauded the exchequer to the tune of Rs 9.5 lakh. A Crime Branch official said Rasheed’s mother, Jana Begum, had died even before her father’s death.
After collecting all the evidence, the Crime Branch immediately registered a case at the Police Station Crime Branch Kashmir. Upon completing the investigation, the crime branch registered a case against about five people, including XEN of R&B. The R&B officers and employees helped get the fake pension book, descriptive roll certificate, and life certificate prepared in favour of Fazzi Begum. After completing the investigation, the Crime Branch has filed a charge sheet against the accused before the Special Mobile Magistrate, Pulwama.
