The non-teaching staff members of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, have started an indefinite strike on Tuesday for their demands and sat on a dharna on the university campus. Earlier, these non-teaching union employees had stopped their work on Monday and called the Vice-Chancellor of the University to highlight their demands, where the Vice-Chancellor assured the employees that all genuine demands would be looked into and efforts are being made to fulfil the demands soon.

However, on Tuesday, the non-teaching staff stopped their work, started an indefinite strike, and started a sit-in demonstration on the university campus. These employees raised slogans supporting their demands and said that all their needs are justified and efforts should be made to address them. Some of the main conditions include a valid promotion policy, provision of employment to the family member of all those employees who lose their lives.

These employees also said that many of their demands could be resolved by the J&K government, for which the university administration has already started a process. Still, some demands can be fulfilled by the university administration itself, Which should be completed at the earliest so that the non-teaching staff can get their entitlements. The employees said that our strike would continue till the demands of the people were met.
