LG Manoj Sinha Leaves for Delhi After Reviewing Security Situation

Hours after reviewing the security situation here at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha left for the national capital on Tuesday.

Official sources said that LG Sinha chaired the security review meeting in the afternoon, and at around 2 pm, he left for Delhi and is likely to brief Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the prevailing security situation in the Union Territory.

Earlier at the review meeting, sources said that the top brass of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, Paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies briefed the Lieutenant Governor on various security aspects, mainly targeted killings Kashmir valley.

It is learnt that the Central Reserve Police Force is also sending additional companies to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of recent civilian killings.

“LG Sinha took a detailed review on the security situation, especially about the targeted killings in the Valley,” sources in the administration said.
A civilian was shot dead on Monday after The terrorists killed Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel.

They added that besides, he also had a threadbare discussion on the border situation, infiltration, border management, hinterland security, law and order, mis-campaign via social media and security arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations across the Union Territory.

The top brass, including Jammu and Kashmir Director General Dilbag Singh, ADG Jammu Zone, Special DG CRPF, IG BSF, DGs of different security agencies and top Army commanders, attended the meeting and briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the security situation.

The senior officers from Kashmir attended the meeting virtually, they said.
