Jammu’s young fast bowler Umran Malik has been rewarded for his performance in the IPL. He has been included in the India A team to play the match against South Africa. The BCCI has announced the India A team on Tuesday. The command of the team has been handed over to Priyank Panchal. The team also includes young players like Prithvi Shaw, Rahul Chahar, Navdeep Saini. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has congratulated Malik on his selection.
Umran Malik bowled the fastest ball while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the India Premier League (IPL). He was bowled at a speed of 152.95 kmph. After this, he was also selected as the net bowler of the India team in the T20 World Cup. Umran had grabbed the selectors’ attention with his brilliant bowling in the IPL and then in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Tafi for Jammu and Kashmir. Umran Malik has taken six wickets in four matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The 21-year-old has played another eight T20Is in List A in his career so far.
Malik also impressed Virat Kohli with his fast bowling. Umran Malik, a resident of Gujjar Nagar in the city, will now impress everyone with his fast bowling against South Africa. India A will play the first four-day match at Bloemfontein from November 23-26, the second from November 29 to December 2 and the third from December 6 to 9.
