LeT militant associate held in Baramulla, arms and ammunition recovered: Police

Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a militant associate of the Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

In a statement, the police said that joint Parties of Baramulla Police headed by SHO Police Sheeri, Army 161 TA and 53 Bn CRPF arrested an OGW of TRF/ LET outfit along with one hand grenade, two Pistol magazines & 16 live rounds at Kitchama.

They identified the arrested OGW as Farooq Ahmad Malik, son of Gh Mohd Malik, resident of Kitchama.

It is pertinent to mention here that the said individual is OGW of active militant, namely Hilal Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Shrakwara Kreeri. Therefore, a case under sections of Indian Arms Act and UA (P) Act stands against them in Police Station Sheeri and investigation set in motion, reads the statement.
