JAMMU: RS Pura Police busted gang of thieves with the arrest of its six members along with stolen items worth several lakhs.
As per police sources, to work out the theft cases, a team from Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma was constituted under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan. After generating a tip off, the team arrested two persons of a thieves gang identified as Honey Kumar, son of Sardari Lal and Ravi Kumar alias Bandri, son of Raj Kumar red-handed and recovered one bike from their possession.
When put to sustained questioning, the duo disclosed their modus operandi and also the names of other gang members namely Rajat Kumar, son of Sardari Lal , Sunny Kumar alias Katti, son of Raj Kumar, Vishal Kumar alias Shalli, son of Yash Pal and Romi Kumar, son of Sat Pal, all residents of RS Pura.
All the six members of the thieves gang were arrested and after cross questioning and taking help of technical footprints, recovery stolen property including 8 motorcycles, 8 pump motors, 3 smartphones, 2 cylinders, kitchen utensils, washbasin, inverters and batteries and speakers.
However, investigation is going on in cases registered under FIR Numbers 173/2021, 189/2021 and 195/2021 for some more recoveries. The whole operation was done under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu Ramnish Gupt
