The officials of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday raided the office of the Employees Provident Funds (EPFO) on several complaints of embezzlement in funds.
According to reports, the Bureau received complaints about the scam of crores after which the action was taken.
“We have received many complaints regarding embezzlement of funds during the lockdown and in the name of false claims, crores of funds have been looted,” CBI sources said.
Saying that ‘the record has been seized for scrunity’, the officials of CBI raided the Department office this morning.
“Raid is still in progress and necessary action will be initiated against the fraudsters and those who have misappropriated the funds,” the officials said
As per sources, a team of around 13-15 CBI employees visited the PF office in Jammu to enquire about the reported frauds.
