DDC Udhampur conducts public outreach camp in remote Panchayat of Narsoo block

UDHAMPUR: In an endeavour to monitor the status and progress of ongoing developmental works being executed by various departments and to redress the grievances of general public at their doorsteps, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib along with senior officers of District Administration conducted an extensive visit of block Narsoo and listened to public issues during a public outreach programme held at Parnal Panchayat.

DDC Chairman, Narsoo Subash Chander, Sarpanches, Panches and general public of adjoining Panchayats projected scores of demands and problems being faced by the them. They demanded promotion of handicraft industry, inclusion of left out beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat scheme, Sanctioning of Higher Secondary School for Narsoo, improving Mobile Network, adequate staff in Government Schools, Filling of Vacant posts in Education and Health Institutions, Construction of passenger shed on NH, Establishment of PHC at Narsoo, Opening of ration depot, Proposal for accommodation of Block and Tehsil Office, Electrification of un -electrified area, Dilapidated condition of Udhampur Ladha road, Paucity of drinking water, repairing of Chenani power house road, Low voltage Training of self help groups etc. After listening the demands and problems of the people, the DDC directed the officers concerned to mitigate the sufferings of the people on priority.

She stressed upon the officers to work with dedication and sincerity and redress genuine grievances of the people pertaining to their respective departments at their level within the specified time frame. Directions were issued to PDD Department to file a report regarding the electricity bills and constitute a two member committee to conduct a survey to assess power supply scenario.  The establishment of health and wellness centres at PHC, organizing Agriculture and Horticulture camps in the area were also stressed upon.  The DDC asked the handicraft department to organize awareness camps in the area after the culmination of 15th August so that the general public can avail the benefits of departmental schemes. The concerned officers were asked to resolve the genuine demands of public on priority and submit the detailed report of pending issues to project the same at appropriate forums .

The PRIs were asked to work efficiently for implementation of the welfare schemes on the ground. The DDC also appreciated the role and coordination between Sub-Division Administration and PRIs.

She stressed on the skill upgradation of the local handloom and handicraft workers and directed the concerned departments to organize special camps for providing the benefits of various Government schemes to weavers.
