Cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir, bridges and Highways damaged

A cloudburst over several districts of Jammu and Kashmir have damaged the residential properties, Highways and triggered flash floods in the area making vehicles drown in the floods.

According to reports, Ganderbal district of Kashmir faced a cloudburst on Monday morning after which the conditions of the area became worse leaving the locals clueless for their safety while the people in Jammu questioned the Administration for Smart City preparations.

As per the Meteorological Department, the areas of Jammu and Kashmir are likely to experience heavy rainfalls in the next 24 hours. However, the Administration has made no red alert issues in the UT.

According to the weather department, the Jammu district saw the highest rainfall with 150.6 mm in the region in the past 24 hours till 8.30 am which was followed by 76.6 mm in Katra, 28mm in Kashmir’s Khanbal, 25.4 mm in Batot, 8.2 mn in Srinagar, 6.4 mm in Banihal, 10.4 mm in Bhaderwah, 23 mm in Pahalgam, 13.6 mm in Gulmarg, 5.2 mm in Qazigund, 7.4 mm in Kokernag and 9.7 mm in Kupwara.

The rainfall was heavy which led to serious losses, however, no loss of mankind was caused.
