REASI: Continuing its drive against bovines smuggling in district Reasi, various teams of district police today arrested 21 smugglers and rescued 124 bovine animals. Team of Police Station Mahore foiled major bovines smuggling bid and rescued 45 number of cattle and arrested nine accused persons.
These bovine animals were being smuggled in 4 vehicles, which were also seized by the Police. The arrested accused were identified as Mohd Sadiq of Banna, tehsil Chassana, Malook of Channa, tehsil Chassana, Bashir Ahmed of Neosi Channa tehsil Chassana, Mohd Shafi of Larh Gulabgarh, Mohd Younis of Channa Chassana, Altaf Hussain of Tukson Mahore, Shabir Ahmed of Channa Chassana, Ajaz Ahmed of Mallan Jamlan Mahore and Javed Hussain of Shajroo.
Similarly, teams of Police Station Arnas, in a series of raids, arrested nine bovine smugglers while foiling six separate attempts of bovines smuggling in Arnas areas and rescued 31 animals from their possession. The arrested persons are Mohd Shaheen of Hariwala, Shabir Ahmed of Shajroo, Javed Hussain of Shajroo, Arshad Shah of Thilloo, Akhter Hussain of Bassan,Thuroo, Abdul Rashid of Ladda, Baldev Singh of Gundali, Mohd Ashraf of Thuroo and Billu of Dhandli. In another success, team of police station Mahore apprehended one bovine smuggler namely Qamar Din of Shajroo from village Ramakumda and rescued 19 bovines from his possession.
Two bovine smugglers namely Abdul Hamid of Shibras Mahore and Mohd Iqbal of Neoch Mahore were arrested from village Adital Gulabgrah. Police rescued 29 bovine animals from their possession.
