Brahman Sabha supports abolition of Darbar move practice

JAMMU: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha has strongly supported the Lt Governor/ Central Govt’s move to do away with the system of Darbar move and described it as historical one. “This will save Rs 200 crore, which was being spent burdening the Govt exchequer, said DBPS President Ved Parkash Sharma while interacting with media persons here on Wednesday.

He appealed to the people of UT J&K to support the bold decision of the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha with regards to discontinue annual move of offices from Jammu to Srinagar and vice-versa thus saving the time of people from both regions resulting in immediate decision on the cases / problems and spending this huge amount on the development and welfare of down-trodden people. DBPS also strongly pleaded for strictly implementation of Anti-conversion Law and Rule in UT Jammu & Kashmir. Sabha also appealed to the Lt Governor of Jammu & Kashmir to come out with executive order for performing all official and administrative work in Hindi.

“Since erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir has now become Union Territory, all administrative and official meetings and issuance of further orders should be in Hindi language only,” Sabha said On the occasion, senior member of the DBPS Advocate PC Sharma demanded implementation of the Supreme Court judgement to grant minority status to Hindus of UTs Jammu & Kashmir who have been struggling since long for this status.
