JAMMU: Acting tough against the private schools for not implementing Government and Fee Fixation Committee orders, the J&K Board of School Education has suspended all its facilities to seven prominent schools in Kashmir Valley .
The erring schools include Iqbal Memorial Institute (Boys & Girls Wings), Bemina, Srinagar; Holy Faith Presentation School, Canal Avenue, Rawalpora, Srinagar; Hat Trick Public School, Zakura, Srinagar; Tiny Hearth Schools, Tengpora, Bye-Pass, Srinagar; Green Valley Educational Institute, Illahi Bagh, Buchpora, Srinagar; JK Public School, Humhama, Budgam and Presentation Convent, Higher Secondary School, Raj Bagh, Srinagar. All the Board related facilities to these school for academic session 2020-21 viz entertainment of Registration Returns (RR), Permission-cum-Admission (PCA) forms of Class 10th, 11th and 12th, have been suspended till further instructions.
The BOSE action has been taken on the recommendation of Director School Education Kashmir who had cited non-implementation of the Government/ Fee Fixation Committee orders and harassment of parents by these schools. Pertinent to mention that in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the School Education Department has already ordered that only Tuition Fee shall be charged from students on monthly basis instead of quarterly basis for the lockdown period and no fee hike shall be made during academic session 2020-21.
The order further says that annual fee, if any can be charged monthly on pro-rate basis, after schools re-open while no schools shall deny access to online education material/class/continuous assessment to poor/deserving students unable to pay school fee due to prevailing situation.
