COVID pyramid falling down in J&K

The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Wednesday witnessed 17 deaths due to Covid-19 while as 1,098 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 19,852.

With 17 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,118 and 1,098 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 303,749

Of the exact number of 303,749 cases, 187,827 are from Kashmir division and 115,922 from Jammu division. Officials said that among 1,098 new cases, 774 belong to Kashmir division while as 324 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 187,827 including 173,373 recoveries and 2,118 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 115,922 including 106,406 recoveries and 2,000 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 19,852 including 12,336 from Kashmir division and 7,516 from Jammu division.

With 3,046 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 279,779 which is 92.10 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 254 from Srinagar, 54 from Baramulla, 113 from Budgam, 65 from Pulwama, 75 from Kupwara, 69 from Anantnag, 23 from Bandipora, 41 from Ganderbal, 64 from Kulgam and 16 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 324 from Jammu division include 97 from Jammu, 22 from Udhampur, 46 from Rajouri, 41 from Doda, 18 from Kathua, 08 from Samba, 10 from Kishtwar, 35 from Poonch, 37 from Ramban and 10 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile authorities on Wednesday confirmed one more case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus in J&K taking toll of total cases to 18.

Out of 17 deaths reported today, 02 died in GMC Jammu, 01 GMC Rajouri, 01 in GMC Kathua, 01 in DH Kishtwar, 01 in DH Reasi, 01 in MH Satwari, 03 in SMHS Sgr, 02 in SKIMS Soura, 01 in DH Pulwama, 01 in JLNM Hosp Sgr, 01 in GMC Baramulla, 01 in CHC Tangdar & 01 in GMC Anantnag.

As per officials figures, 67,565 positive cases including 802 deaths and 64,030 recoveries are from Srinagar, 22,398 including 271 deaths and 20,214 recoveries are from Baramulla, 21,462 including 19,940 recoveries and 198 deaths are from Budgam, 14,145 including 12,545 recoveries and 177 deaths are from Pulwama, 12,975 including 150 deaths and 11,749 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,284 including 14,021 recoveries and 187 deaths are from Anantnag, 8,829 cases including 8,306 and 97 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,173 including 8,467 recoveries and 70 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,521 including 9,261 recoveries and 109 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,466 including 4,840 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 51,828 including 47,701 recoveries and 1,104 deaths are from Jammu district, 10,900 including 10,436 recoveries and 130 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,233 including 9,306 recoveries and 197 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,200 including 5,087 recoveries and 93 deaths are from Doda, 9,018 including 8,685 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Kathua, 6,932 including 6,434 recoveries and 115 deaths are from Samba, 4,179 including 3,941 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Kishtwar, 5,719 including 4,704 recoveries and 80 deaths are from Poonch, 5,463 including 4,868 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Ramban and 5,460 including 5,244 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 2,194,151 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 79,267 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 19,852 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,947,451 persons have completed surveillance period and 143,463 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,985,138 samples are available. Out of 8,985,138 the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,681,389 while as 303,749 have tested positive, among them 19,852 persons are active, 279,779 persons have recovered and 4,118 persons have died
