SAMBA: District Police Samba successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 22 bovines after arresting a bovine smuggler in the jurisdiction of Police Station, Ghagwal. Police party of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal headed by SHO, PS Ghagwal, Inspector, Rakesh Sharma while on vehicle checking duty at naka NHW Tapyal, recovered 22 bovines which were being transported in a Container Truck having Registration Number, JKO2AP/6355 coming from Kathua side and moving towards Valley.
The accused driver identified as Nazir Hussain, son of Sher Mohd of Degwar Terwan, Poonch has been arrested on the spot. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The Container Truck used for smuggling the bovines was also seized on the spot. A case FIR No. 122/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
