DC issues New Order For Jammu District

Due to constant efforts of District Administration and support of the people in the fight against Covid-19, the Jammu district has been declared as orange-zone by the State Executive Committee.

This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Anshul Garg today here at a media briefing.

The Deputy Commissioner said that in order to tackle the challenges mounted by COVID-19 pandemic effectively, the Administration has laid key emphasis on massive vaccination.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that more than 32 thousand persons in the 18-44 age-group were inoculated during the special accelerated vaccination drive held in the last five days of.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that a special vaccination drive was initiated at 32 different locations to vaccinate the priority groups including shopkeepers, journalists, lawyers, bank employees, widows, orphans, the people associated with the tourism sector etc.

The Deputy Commissioner said that in view of decline in corona cases, new guidelines have been issued allowing opening of 50% shops on alternate days.

Anshul Garg also appealed to the people to avail benefits of the Covid Care Centres activated at Panchayat level with 5 bedded capacity and oxygenated beds.

He also informed that the testing facility has been geared up in all 305 Panchayats under the supervision of Block Medical Officers.

The Deputy Commissioner said that a special initiative has been taken by the Social Welfare Department, Labour Department and FS& CAPD to provide pensions, rations and financial aid to construction works. He also informed that more than 850 works have been initiated under MGNREGA besides many projects have been started under B2V, languishing and mega projects to provide job to daily wagers.

He said that people should not heed to the rumors and keep following the restrictions and SOPs/guidelines issued by the Administration for Breaking the Chain.

The DC said that the Administration is dealing with the situation as per recommended guidelines and urged all the stakeholders to play an active role in combating the deadly disease.

The Deputy Commissioner again appealed to the people to use Helpline numbers for any kind of assistance regarding Covid-19.
