Four arrested with illicit liquor

JAMMU: Domana, Gangyal and Chatha Police arrested four persons along with illicit liquor. As per police sources, a team from Police Station Domana led by SHO Inspector Mahesh Sharma and assisted by PSI Younis Khanday laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK20BK-7198.

During checking, police team recovered 12 bottles of illicit liquor from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who were identified as Rajesh Massi, son of Parshotam Massi and Samon Kali, son of Socha Massi, both residents of Gumpul Domana District Jammu. The vehicle involved has been seized. A case under FIR Number 145/2021 under Sections 48-A and 51 (1) Excise act, 188 IPC and 51 DM Act has been registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started. The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma. Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Gangyal led by SHO Inspector Raghuvir Choudhary laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK06-5390. During checking, police team recovered 13 bottles of illicit liquor from the vehicle and arrested one person, who was identified as Sunil Singh, son of Kashmir Singh of District Doda.

A case under FIR Number 95/2021 under Sections 48 (a) Excise Act, 188 IPC and 3 ED Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation initiated. However, a team from Police Post Chatha led by Inspector Rakesh Roshan under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Deepak Jasrotia intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02CD-4672. During checking, police team recovered 12 litres of illicit liquor from the vehicle and arrested the rider, who was identified as Mahesh Rana, son of Veer Singh, a resident of Hakkal Chatha.

A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation started.
