Total COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in India exceeded 20.86 crore

NEW DELHI: The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country exceeded 20.86 Crore.

On the 133rd day of the vaccination drive yesterday, 28 lakh 7 thousand 411 vaccine doses were given. Yesterday, over 13 lakh 36 thousand beneficiaries of the age group 18 to 44 years received their first dose and 275 beneficiaries of the same age group received their second dose of COVID vaccine.

More than 1 crore 66 lakh 47 thousand people across 37 States and UTs have received vaccine doses since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive. Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years for their first dose of COVID vaccine.

Over 1.66 crore vaccine doses have been given to health care workers, over 2.38 crore vaccine doses administered to front line workers, over 7.45 crore doses to the age Group of 45 to 60 years and over 7.6 crore doses to people above 60 years of age.
