Rajbagh police rescues 9 bovine animals

KATHUA: District Police in its continued efforts to eradicate the menace of bovine smuggling from the society today foiled bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Rajbagh and rescued nine bovines and seized the vehicles involved.

Police said a team of PS Rajbagh led by Inspector, Bhopinder Singh, SHO, under the supervision of SSP Kathua, RC Kotwal and SDPO Border, Sachit Mahajan while on Naka checking duty in its jurisdictional area noticed two Mahindra Load Carriers bearing registration number JK08F-7141 and another vehicle without any registration number on way towards Jammu which were being driven by unknown persons. On seeing naka party drivers stopped their vehicles far behind the naka point and managed to fled away. On checking Police found four bovines from one vehicle and five from another.

They were brutally tied with ropes in a cruel manner and transported without any legal permission which were rescued by naka party on spot. On this, case vide FIR No. 78 /2021 and 79/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh and further investigation is underway.
