JAMMU: Janipur police has arrested a notorious vehicle lifter and recovered a stolen vehicle from his possession.
A complaint was lodged at police station Janipur by one person namely Vishal Kumar (driver) son of Satpaul, resident of Thalhar (Janipur) that his Taxi (Etios) bearing registration number JK14E-7669 which was parked outside his residence at Janipur, was stolen. Accordingly, a case FIR number 39/2021 under section 379 IPC was registered at police station Janipur and dedicated teams of police station Janipur under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar were constituted to crack the case.
During investigation, a team led by SHO police station Janipur Inspector Nayat Ali after hectic efforts and analysis of CCTV footages of various check points nabbed the accused namely Ajaz Ahmad Naqshbandi son of Ghulam Nabi Naqshbandi, resident of Sir Syed Abad Bemina (Srinagar). During sustained questioning accused confessed his involvement in the case and the stolen vehicle was also recovered on his disclosure. It is pertinent to mention that accused was a notorious vehicle lifter and several cases already stands registered against him in police station Bahu Fort (Jammu) as well as police stations of Punjab and Delhi.
Further investigation is going on to ascertain his involvement in any other case.
