As the Government brings down the local transport seating to 50% in Jammu, the Transport Union has refused to run Matadors and Buses from Wednesday.
All J&K Welfare Transport Association Pradhan, TS Wazir while speaking to JK Channel expressed his disappointment with the Government. He said that the decline in passengers already exists due to the pandemic and lowering the seating amount would result in great loss.
“It’s a disheartening that the LG didn’t contact us before taking the decision. Transport is a big sector. 50% seating would not do justice to the diesel rates. The local transport would be shut until there’s a 50% hike in the fares.” Wazir said
Wazir further added that the Administration must take a call on the transporters welfare and take their business seriously.
