India crosses 12.69 crore COVID vaccination mark

NEW DELHI: The total Covid vaccinations across the country has crossed more than 12 crore 69 lakh mark. These include over 91 lakh 69 thousand Healthcare Workers who have taken the first dose and 57 lakh 66 thousand who took the second dose.

Besides, more than one crore 14 lakh Frontline workers have received the first dose and 56 lakh 64 thousand received the second dose of Covid vaccine. Union Health Ministry said, more than 31 lakh vaccine doses were given till 8 pm yesterday on the 94th day of nationwide COVID19 vaccination. Out of which nearly 21 lakh 67 thousand beneficiaries were vaccinated for the first dose and over 9 lakh beneficiaries received the second dose of the vaccine.

All AIIMS including AIIMS, New Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh, Mangalagiri, Nagpur; JIPMER Puducherry; and PGIMER Chandigarh have increased their number of Oxygen supported beds as well as ICU beds with ventilators. They had 1448 oxygen supported beds and 519 ICU-ventilator beds.

This number has been increased to 2113 Oxygen supported beds and 676 ICU-Ventilator beds. The move will go a long way in addressing the urgent and critical need of hospital beds in the States.
