NEW DELHI: Moments after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a six-day-long lockdown in the national capital, people in the city rushed to the liquor stores like there will be no tomorrow.

Long, serpentine queues were seen in several areas of Delhi as anxious tipplers threw one of the basic COVID-19 guidelines, social distancing, for a toss. People were seen standing in long queues, some with masks and many without it, practicing no social distancing at all. Pictures of such lines were reported from Khan Market and Gole Market areas of Delhi.

A woman, who has come to purchase liquor, at a ship in Shivpuri Geeta Colony spoke with media and her animated response on lockdown, coronavirus and COVID-19 vaccine has gone viral on social media.
