NSS units GDC Kathua remembered martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh under ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav Celebration’

KATHUA: NSS Units GDC Kathua today organised Floral tribute ceremony in the memory of Martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on the eve of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre Day and Dr B R Ambedkar Jyanti.

This programme was organised under Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav Celebration. The programme started with offering floral tribute to the Martyrs and Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Vice Principal Prof Jaswinder Singh along with staff members, NSS Prog officers and NSS volunteers paid floral tributes. In his message Principal memorised the sacrifices of freedom fighters who got martyrdom while assembled peacefully in Jallianwala Bagh against the arrest of their leaders and Rowalt Act, a black legislation passed by the then British Government. To keep the spirit alive of sacrifice among young generation, this tribute ceremony was organised today.

In addition to it, principal also throw light on the life and achievement of Father of Indian constitution. On this occasion, NSS volunteer Naman Dogra briefed the importance of the this day and throw valuable light on life of the Martyrs. Miss Jagriti Sharma recited poem on the sacrifices of freedom fighters. Nitish Pansotra, Miss Shakti Devi NSS Volunteers also sang a patriotic song in a tribute to the Martyrs of Nation.

The group song was also presented by Malvika Sharma and her team members. Mesmerising gathering also took pledge to serve the nation and follow the footsteps of our Martyrs and freedom fighters which was read out by Abhishek Mahajan. Prof Rakesh Jasrotia, Prof Shub Kumar, Prof Suresh Sharma, Prof Smith Dua,Prof Kamini Gupta and other staff members also graced the occasion.

The event was organised under the supervision of NSS Prog officers Prof Manmohan Singh,Prof Ritu kumar Sharma and Prof Neha Bandral along with NSS volunteers.
