JAMMU: Domana police arrested a thief and recovered stolen items worth over Rs 2 lakh from his possession. As per police sources, a complaint was lodged on December 29 last year regarding theft in a residential house in Machine Domana area.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 382/2020 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started. During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Domana rounded up several suspects and finally nabbed the thief, who was identified as Pritam Singh, son of Uttam Singh of Purkho Camp, District Jammu. On his confession, stolen Samsung HD TV 59 cms, Exide Inverter, Exide Battery, 1 gas cylinder, 1 heat convector and blankets were recovered.
During further questioning, the said accused has confessed his involvement in other theft cases and has led to the recovery of 1 Hitachi 1.5 Ton (3 star) split AC, 1 192L Samsung Refrigerator, 1 Photon digital AC stabiliser 4KVA , 2 HP LPG cylinders, 1 Hawkins Pressure cooker 14 litre and 1 Voltage stabiliser. The value of recovered stolen property is over Rs 2 lakh. The investigation is still going on and further arrests and recovery is likely to be made.
The arrest and recoveries have been made by SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
