DGP sanctions over Rs 40 lakh as welfare, ex-gratia relief

JAMMU: To assist and ease up the financial distress of the NoKs of martyred police personnel and SPO, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 5.40 lakh as welfare relief in favour NoKs of martyred and deceased police personnel and retired police personnel.

He has sanctioned Rs 35 lakh ex-gratia relief for NoKs of martyred SPOs. Rs 25000 each has been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of martyrs HC Mohammad Ashraf, Ct Mohammad Rafiq, Ct Mudasir Ahmad, Ct Farooq Ahmad, SPO Adil Bhat and Rs 20000 has been sanctioned in favour of NoK of martyr SgCt Mohammad Ayoub. The amount has been sanctioned out of Police Pariwar Fund to ease up their financial distress.

The DGP has also sanctioned welfare relief of Rs 3.95 lakh in favour of eighteen retired and NoKs of deceased police personnel for the purpose of self treatment or treatment of their dependant or for the marriage of their son or daughter. The welfare relief sanctioned ranges from minimum of Rs 5000 to the maximum of Rs 50000 The amount has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.

Meanwhile the DGP has also sanctioned ex-gratia relief of Rs 17.50 lakh each in favour of two martyr SPOs Mohammad Assadullah Bhat and Javed Iqbal Khandey who have attained martyrdom in consequence of due performance of their official duties.
