SAMBA: In a major breakthrough in its drive against illicit liquor, Samba Police seized a huge cache of illicit liquor from Industrial area SIDCO Phase II, near here.
Acting on reliable information regarding storage of illicit liquor at M/S New Sarwan Sons Battery, Phase II SIDCO Samba which was purportedly kept to be sold in the adjoining area among general public at exorbitant rates to gain illegitimate profit, a police party of Police Station (PS), Samba headed by SHO, Inspector, Sudhir Sadotra under the supervision of Dy.SP Headquarters Samba, Tilak Raj Bhaderwaj rushed to the spot along with Naib Tehsildar, Samba and during checking within the premises of the factory, they recovered a huge cache of illicit liquor with a total of 2224 bottles Whisky (First Choice), including 1018 Bottles of 750 ml, 456 Bottles of 375 ml, 750 Bottles of 180 ml. ]
All the recovered consignment of illicit liquor was seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 85/2021 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation taken up.
