POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav today chaired a meeting to discuss the modalities for effective implementation of provisions of Forest Rights Act.
The meeting was attended by DFO, Mohan Lal; ACR, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi; DPO, Madan Lal; and other concerned officers were present. During the meeting, the DC Poonch shared a schedule for speeding up the process of right settlement through handholding, awareness of FRCs in Gram Sabhas for effective implementation of Forest Right Act.
For settlement of received claims under forest rights Act, FRC has to call forest & revenue field staff for spot verification & checking of evidence, the DC informed. He said the role of staff of forest & revenue department is very crucial. “At first schedule, Spot verification by FRC in presence of claimant and Report of FRC with comments of staff of forest & revenue departments, there after resolution of gram sabha on report of FRC has to be completed.
At second schedule, SDLC shall review the resolution of gram sabha for genuine claimant. At third schedule, DLC shall review the report of SDLC for genuine claimant” he informed.
Handholding & scheduled program is important for awareness & effectively implementation of Forest Rights Act, he added.
