REASI: Additional Mission Director, Jammu Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), Jammu Sham Lal visited District Reasi and inspected and reviewed progress on various activities of the Mission.
While interacting with SHG members at Bagha, he said Self Help Groups (SHGs), besides being a microfinance mechanism, is a method to implement Development schemes at the grassroots level. He suggested that the marginalized community should come together to solve their problems through empowerment and livelihood security.
further suggested the participants to organize themselves in clusters and Producers Groups. Meanwhile, the Additional Mission Director reviewed the working of Dogra Rural Haat at Block Pouni and suggested for introduction of some more local dishes and proper maintenance of records.
He also visited the Sanitary Napkin Production unit, which is an initiative of the District Administration Reasi in collaboration with BMMU Reaşi for providing low cost sanitary pads to the adolescent girls and women.
The Sanitary Napkin Production unit is also a source of livelihood for SHGs.
Later, an MoU was signed between District Administration, Reasi and JKRLM for proper functioning of the Sanitary Napkin Production unit.
