JAMMU: A couple was arrested for allegedly beating their nephew in Ranbir Singh Pura area here on city outskirts.
Police said that a verbal complaint was lodged of one child namely Sheikh Imraan Hussain, son of Zakir Hussain, resident of Hati Shalla Duni, Hoogly, West Bengal, presently living in Ward Number 01 R S Pura, under Child Labour Act, Protection of Child Act, case was registered. They said that it was stated in the complaint that presently he is living with one Shoket Ali of of Hoogly WB, presently living in Ward No 1, R S Pura and he along with his wife, Arifa Begum forced him to work as labour work and they often used to beat and abused him.
“The couple on Thursday attacked upon him in order to kill him and on this a case was registered and investigation started,” Jai Pal Sharma, Station House Officer, Ranbir Singh Pura, Police Station, said adding that they have been arrested and further investigation is going on
