RAMBAN: Sheep Husbandry Department, Ramban, today organized an awareness camp at Batote which was attended by the Sheep breeders, locals and PRIs.
Speaking on the occasion, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Dr Vikas Gupta stressed upon breeders to avail the benefits of latest technology used in sheep rearing. He called upon breeders to make use of the latest technology and rear genetically improved cross breeds to make sheep farming as a viable income generating option.
During the camp, 20 polypropylene sheets under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yogna were distributed among the needy breeders for temporary shelter sheds for their livestock. Resource persons including Technical Officer, Dr. Dr Muzamil Mohammad Rather and Veterinary Assistant Surgeons Dr.
Abdul Rehman Dar gave a detailed presentation about various diseases found in sheep and the measures to be taken to prevent these diseases besides explaining a detailed schedule of vaccination and do.
