JAMMU: Miran Sahib Police arrested a bike lifter and recovered two stolen motorcycles from his possession. As per police sources, on specific information, a special naka was laid at Muraalian area of Miran Sahib. During checking of vehicles, one bike rider was signalled to stop but the biker took a U turn and tried to flee.
The bike rider was overpowered by alert cops. On enquiry the bike rider revealed his name as Prabjot Singh, son of Ashok Singh of Bazigar Mohalla Bari Brahmna. On further questioning, the biker admitted that the motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AX-2978 he was riding was stolen by him from Miran Sahib. The accused was arrested in a case registered under FIR Number 81/2020 under Section 379 IPC with Police Station Miran Sahib. On his disclosure, one more stolen motorcycle was recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
