Two touts helping students in cheating in professional examinations arrested

JAMMU: Police arrested two touts involved in cheating in professional examination like SSB, Army and other examinations.

A control room set up by the arrested touts has been busted and electronic gadgets were also recovered.

As per police sources, on specific information about a gang involved in helping the students in cheating in the professional examinations, a team from Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jaipal Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan raided various locations in RS Pura and successfully busted a control room, which was set up by the touts. The gang was helping the undeserving students in solving their examination papers and finally getting them jobs. Police recovered electronic gadgets like Bluetooth, mobile phones, smart watches, WIFI equipments, etc used in communicating answer keys during examination to the students. During raid, two persons identified as Hardev Singh, son of Kirpal Singh and Abhinandan Sharma, son of Suraj Pal Sharma, both residents of tehsil RS Pura were arrested and incriminating material was recovered from the place they were using for committing the crime. During questioning the duo accepted their crime and gave some important clues of involvement of some teachers and some other officials hired by them for logistic help.

The duo also disclosed names of the students who got undue benefit in this process. Subsequently, a case under FIR Number 42/2021 under Sections 5 UFME Act, 409 and 120-B IPC has been registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation has been set into motion. Some more arrests are expected in near future to unearth this scam.

The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu Adil Hamid and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
