RAMBAN: Sheep Husbandry Department, Ramban today organized a one-day capacity building programme for the staff here in its office premises.
The programme was presided over by the District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr. Vikas Gupta, which was attended by the doctors and field staff. During the training session, resource persons imparted training to as many as 40 participants regarding Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). Speaking on the occasion, DSHO sensitized the participants about a scheduled vaccination programme which would be started from the first week of March under National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) a centrally-sponsored scheme for eradicating the disease among all sheep and goat population of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that the programme is of utmost importance and every animal is to be registered, vaccinated and uploaded on online portal created for the purpose during the vaccination programme.
