UT Govt is working on NEP: DSEJ

KATHUA: The Jammu and Kashmir Government is working on New Education Policy (NEP), envisaged by the Union Government of India and in this regard a group of task force has been constituted by UT Government to implement it. It was stated by Director School Education Jammu (DSEJ), Anuradha Gupta during a function, which was organised to felicitate meritorious students.

While addressing the gathering, she said that the new education policy has various aspects including holistic development of the students, all round development; Art integrated learning and flexibility in learning choice to skill development.

On this occasion nearly 10 meritorious students were awarded with Tablets (Tab) by the DSEJ which were drawn from Billawar, Basholi, Hiranagar and Kathua areas. She also inspected the newly renovated Resources Centre for online classes at Kathua and reviewed activities, infrastructure development and safety measures taken by Education Department post opening of educational institutions including Govt Higher Secondary School Kootah.

She also inaugurated herbal garden at Govt Higher Secondary School Boys Kathua and appreciated the Chief Education Officer Kathua for their innovative steps. She asked the parents of the students to register online complain on education portal if they are facing any problems or harassment by Private Schools regarding charging of tuitions fee during COVID-19 pandemic.

She also distributed certificates among teachers who recently completed IMPACT training programme during her visit to Kathua. She was accompanied by Joint Director Showkat Mahmood Wani, CEO Jagjeet Singh and DEPO Kathua Aruna Sharma.
