Hideout busted in Reasi, weapons recovered

JAMMU: Security forces have recovered cache of arms and ammunition from a hideout in forest area of Mahore area of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir. Official spokesman here said that huge cache of weapons, including warlike stores, recovered in Makkhidhar forest of Reasi District by joint teams of Indian Army and J&K Police Mahore.

“In a joint ops on the intervening night of 17-18 Feb, has recovered a huge cache of weapons, including warlike stores in the hinterlands of Reasi district of Jammu region,” said the spokesman. He added that input was received from reliable source regarding suspicious activity in the remote and dense forests of Makkhidar in Reasi District.

These warlike stores were spread over large area in remote uninhabited forests of Makkhidhar forest in Reasi District. Persistent and coordinated efforts of joint search by Indian Army and JKP duly supported by local intelligence units has led to successfully unearth huge cache of weapons and war like stores, he added.

The recovery included one AK 47 Rifle, one SL Rifle, one 303 Bolt Rifle, two Chinese Pistols, one Pistol MAG with ammunition, two radio sets with antenna, one AK 47 ammunition box sealed, four UBGL Grenades.
