JAMMU: In the series of efforts made by BSF to assist and foster a close bond with border population, a free medical and agriculture awareness camp with multi specialized doctors for humans as well as animals was organized by 92 Battalion BSF at border village Gurha Manhasan, Pragwal, here.
The camp was inaugurated by Ex-MLA Dr Krishan Lal in presence of Sanjay Chauhan, Commandant BSF and villagers of nearby area. In this camp, specialized team of doctors with BSF Senior Medical Officer Dr Safina Sawhney carried out check up of local population of border villages Hamirpurkona, Dewra, Sajwal, Chak Fagwari, Pindi Takwal, Rajpura, Molu and N S Pura. Many under privileged families benefitted from this medical camp, who could not afford expenses of treatment.
Raju Gupta, Officer from Agriculture Department Jourian generated awareness regarding the various crops, protection from diseases and its treatment to the farmers of border villages which was of immense value to them. Sanjay Chauhan, Commandant BSF interacted with border population and said that BSF is always committed to help and support the border population with all its possible means and situation.
During this camp, 498 persons and 103 animals having different ailment were treated by the respective doctors.
