CEC, MP reach Zanskar after three days Chadar trek

LEH: The Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, along with Member Parliament (MP) Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal reached Zanskar after the three days Chadar trek to take part in the first Khelo India, Zanskar Winter Sports & Youth Festival 2021.

They were also accompanied by Councillor Lungnak, Stanzin Lakpa; Councillor Chosgyal; OC 81 RCC, Kishan and other officials as well as non-official workers. The team was welcomed by the people of Neyrags, Skumpata, Jingchen and Lingshed (including monks from Lingshed Gompa) on their way to Zanskar. They presented memorandum citing their demands to the CEC, LAHDC Leh and MP Ladakh. CEC Gyalson said that the trek was initiated with the objective of development and promotion of tourism in the entire belt starting from Chiling to Zanskar. They took physical stock of the ongoing Nimo-Padum-Darcha (NPD) road with BRO officials accompanying them and did a ground survey for speeding up the project. CEC Gyalson extended his gratitude to MP, Ladakh for coming out with the initiative of Zanskar Winter Sports Festival and appreciated Councillor Lungnak, Zanskar and his team for making the Chadar trek successful.

CEC Gyalson also extended his gratitude to the entire team of UTDRF, Ladakh Mountaineering Group and Zanskar Rescue Team for working tirelessly on the logistics for the Chadar Trek.
