Army helping youth for better future

RAJOURI: Apart from guarding the border and maintaining peace in hinterland, Indian Army also are helping the youth of the region on various social and educational issues. In continuous of this, Army organised a workshop for students of Government Senior Secondary School, Dehri Ralyote in district Rajouri on “How to Join Defence Forces” and “Drug Menace in Society”.

During the interaction session, the speaker explained to the audience about various employment opportunities in Defence Forces and how to prepare for various recruitment rallies being conducted by different recruitment agency. The audience was also informed about various pre-recruitment drives under taken by local units of Army in the region.

Drug menace is a major social issue in UT of Jammu and Kashmir and need to be address at every possible level. The students were told how the drug menace is playing with the lives of youth by pushing them into the vicious cycle of drugs by initially supplying the contraband at a low cost and once the person gets addicted to it, then exploiting him to their benefit. The workshop attended 10 Teachers, 150 Students & 19 Sarpanchs and Naib Sarpanchs of the local region.

The students and local populace applauded the efforts of the Army in organising such activities which generated feeling of goodwill amongst the civil population, especially the students.
