Non-Resident Indian Day celebrated

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) also known as the Non- Resident Indian Day is observed on Jan 9th every year.

The day also marks Mahatma Gandhi’s return from South Africa in 1915. The idea of celebration the day was to interact with people who works abroad as they are representative of nation to outside world and have significant contribution in building national image and helping the economy. Naili region of Rajouri district have a sizeable number of people who works abroad mainly in Mid-East Countries. The aim of the event was appropriate the contribution of these people in building national image of Indian.

A total of 53 people, including 20 NRI alongwith prominent personalities of Naili attend the event.
