BANDIPORA, JANUARY 05: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad on Tuesday visited several areas of the district to inspect the snow clearance operation and the status of essential commodities besides reviewing the power supply scenario and healthcare services available.
The DC visited Main Market Bandipora to inspect the snow clearance operation and directed the Municipal authorities to ensure immediate and prioritized clearance of snow from foot paths, internal lanes and by-lanes.
He said control rooms have been established at District and Sub-Divisional level for better coordination between line departments and to ensure prompt snow clearance and provision of other essential services.
He also visited Patushai Grid station to inspect the restoration process of different feeders. It was given out that 27 feeders have been restored on Tuesday while the rest will be restored at an earliest.
Dr Owais reviewed the availability of essential commodities and it was informed that there is a sufficient stock of essential commodities available in the district including LPG, ration, Vegetables and other essentials.
It was also informed that there is a stock of 22656 quintals of rice, 2150 LPG cylinders, 87200 litres of Diesel and 65600 litres of petrol available in the District Godowns.
The DC directed the concerned to conduct regular market checking to check the arbitrary rise in prices and illegal stocking.
He later visited District Hospital Bandipora to inspect healthcare facilities being provided to the patients. He enquired the patients about the availability of medicare facilities and heating arrangements and urged upon doctors to ensure better healthcare facilities to the patients and better heating arrangements in wards.
The DC during the visit was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, Chief Medical Officer Bandipora Bashir Ahmad, Tehsildar Bandipora and Chairman Municipal Council Bandipora and other senior officers of the district.
