Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir DDC elections has accused the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration of echoing the sentiments and agenda of Pakistan and China. Anurag Thakur along with other BJP leaders was campaigning for the party candidates for the ongoing DDC elections in Phallain Mandal and other areas. Thakur said, “When Articles 370 and 35-A were abrogated, the Gupkar Alliance was the first to ask for its restoration, just like Pakistan. When we took action against separatists, the Gupkar Alliance was the first to show sympathy for their welfare and demand their freedom, just like Pakistan. When we restored democratic rights and the electoral process in J&K, the Gupkaris were the first to boycott it, just like Pakistan. When J&K was fully integrated under India’s Constitution and National Flag, Gupkaris wanted to restore a separate flag here,” he added. Thakur questioned Gupkar Alliance saying, “Why the Alliance is echoing the sentiments of India’s enemies? Why are they standing shoulder to shoulder with those who ruined the lives of the people J&K? They have spent a lifetime doing divisive politics, how much longer should the people have to suffer their Pakistan propaganda,” he asked? Thakur said “The agenda of Pakistan and China sympathisers will never succeed. Those who threaten the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India, will continue to get a befitting reply under Prime Minister, Modi’s Government. There is zero tolerance towards acts of terrorism and anti-national activities. ‘Rashtriya Ekta’ has triumphed over the Gupkar Alliance and ‘Tukde Tukde’ agenda.” Thakur added, “the real face of the Gupkar Alliance has been exposed, their activities in public and these elections will begin a new era in J&K; where all round development is the only agenda and goal.”
